Pre-finish information
Our factory finish is achieved by the application of 8 separate coats of UV cured aluminium oxide lacquer which results in a harder and more durable finish with an extremely high wear resistance.
We finish our floors to a low satin sheen which protects the floor whilst helping to reduce the appearance of smears and spills associated with every day use.
Our finish provides protection against premature wood discolouration and yellowing due to exposure to the sunlight.
With all Blue Evolution floors it is possible to sand away the factory finish and re-seal the floor when signs of wear begin to show. A pre-finished floor will always result in a 'v' groove product when laid which means that the 1st sand needs to be heaver to remove this and will result in a larger reduction in the wear layer.
Application suitability
It is generally accepted by the industry that pre-finished floors are best suited to domestic and light use commercial applications.
