IGIreland is now a wholly separate organisation and is the only body in Ireland promoting the integration of intelligent and green building. We are a new type of building innovations organization that creates shared opportunities to create change through applying the original key principles:
- Design Innovation - providing integrated design for best value and performance and the effective integration of environmental and intelligent services.
- Construction Innovation - improving building performance, using recyclable and sustainable materials and advanced planning and construction methods such as prefabrication and dry construction.
- Intelligent Services - supporting integrated networks to improve building management and control, smart energy management and metering, advanced communications and specialist applications such as home working and home care systems.
- Environmental Technology - making major savings in energy and water use while minimizing waste and pollution through the application of green and intelligent technologies.
- Buildings and Social Change - reflecting the changing role of buildings in the 21st century with flexible patterns of living, working and learning. The involvement and empowerment of building users and communities is achieved through communications and consultation.
- Management Innovation - improving the management of costs, maintenance, building support services, thermal performance certification, building flexibility, building administration and communications.
- Financial Innovation - achieving best value through innovative procurement and partnering, broad based cost benefit analysis and life cycle costing. These are used to shift the focus from one-off capital costs to a new appreciation of lifetime performance and value.
